THE ISLAMIC PEACE GREETING

AS-SALAAM THE ISLAMIC PEACE GREETING
The large Importance of Islamic peace greeting "Salaam alikum" is not often noted. Especially in non-Muslim countries where Muslims are a minority is the greeting of peace not always applied consistently according to its actual meaning. However, one should think seriously about this matter, because of the Muslim children and young people who were born in these countries and there growing up. They should learn from the start stand back to copying meaningless modern non-Islamic form of greeting among Muslims.
All over the world when Muslims meet, they greet each other with "Salaam Alikum. Thus, a common feeling of security and peace arises from the very first encounter. Without being asked, should we behave with kindness and courtesy and friendliness and courtesy at least respond in equal measure. "Salaam" sounds better than the unfortunately copied as often as greeting forms, such as "Hello", "Morning", "day", etc. of non-Muslims. The Messenger of Allah () said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of him." [Abu Dawud]
and 'Imran bin Hussain reported: "In the time of the Djaahiliyah (time of ignorance before Islam) greeted We each other with: 'May Allah delight your eyes' and' Good morning! 'When Islam came, we were forbidden it. "[Abu Dawud]
The Arabic word Salaam, generally translated as" peace "has, according to Muhammad Asad" ... no suitable (translation in the English language *. It means inner peace, stability and security against all kinds of evil, whether physical or spiritual ... "(Message of the Qur'an, p. 145, Fgßnote 29). aucb * This is for the German language.
As-Salaam is an attribute of Allah, one of the ninety-nine names of Allah in the Qur'an. From This term is As-Salaam (surrender to Allah) also aslama, the name of Islam and also derived the name of Islamic peace greeting Salaam alikum. Accordingly, a Muslim, anyone who surrenders himself completely to the will of Allah and peace. Allah Himself is As-Salaam - Peace, the Preserver of Safety: "He is Allah, one who, other than whom there is no deity, the ruler, the absolutely pure, the absolutely spotless, the security assurance over ... " [59:23]
Abdullah reported:
"If we were doing Salah behind the Prophet we used to say (.):" As-Salaam be upon His believers before Allah, As-Salaam Gabriel (Djibriel), As-Salaam on Michael, As-Salaam on
so and Allah is Self-As-Salaam (peace), so if you sit in Djulus, sol1te say: "The honor is Allah, the worship and all good things. Peace be with you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be with us and the pious servants of Allah
As-Sa1amu 'alaykum As-Salamu
' alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Rahmatullahi
peace and Allah's mercy be upon him (Gabriel). You see what I do not see. } (This she said to the Messenger of Allah). "[Bukhari]
And A'isha said (Gabriel's Greetings) with" wa 'alaihis-Salaam wa Rahmatullahi, wa Barakatuhu "(peace be upon him and Allah's mercy and blessings).
Anas ibn Malik reported that the prophet taught us to salute the people of the Book (.)
"If the people of the Book greet you, then responds with 'well you up' (wa 'alaykum)." [Bukhari]

used a group of Jews the prophet when she met him, instead of "As-Salamu-'alaik" with "As-Samu-'alaik (death to you)," to salute. Historically, this is an indirect indication of the hostility of some Jews to the Prophet in Madinah. The Prophet kept But the rest, as they held him "peace", the "death wish, because Allah has revealed to the Prophet (as.ws):

" .. And when they come to you they greet you with that with which Allah you did not greet, and say to her: "If Allah afflict us but for what we say!" ... " [Surah 58:8]

So he answered kindly and lenient with "wa 'alaykum (and also on you)" as reported A'isha ().

"A group of Jews came to the Messenger of Allah and greeted him with> As; Sam-'Alaika
' Alaikum As-Samu wal-la'na (Death and damnation to you).
Keep calm, OA'ischa for Allah 1iebt the one who is kind and lenient in all matters.
wa 'alaykum (and yourselves) "[al-Bukhari]

We have also reported certain duties to our brother, Yours is one of those obligations Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said;.

" The rights of a Muslim over another Muslim are six: if you discover him, greet him, when he invites you to follow his invitation (if you can) and when he offers advice to give him advice, if he sneezed and glorifies God is reacting with> Jarr-hamuka =-Allah '(Allah may give you mercy), and if he is ill, visit him, if he dies, follow the makers of his body "[Muslim]

The greetings applies 1slam as a good deed, it is irrelevant to know whether they are Muslims.. or not, if they meet greet them with Salaam. 'Abdallah ibn' Amr reported

"A man asked the Prophet (). >> In what way can we live Islam good?
> Since you give food and the greeting of peace (Salaam) to each utter, you know and do not know. "[Al-Bukhari and al-Muata]
